A subtle on-theme look for our holiday of Love ?
With Valentine’s Day less than a week away, I thought I’d share an option for those of us needing a last-minute look that is on theme but doesn’t necessarily scream “Valentine’s Day.” Best of all, it’s ON SALE, just in time! The detailing and cut of the top around the neck and shoulder line are perfect, but my favorite part is the scalloping at the bottom, making this classic, pale pink shift dress a bit more flirty and fun.
I wrote about how I love the idea of pairing over-the-knee boots with shorter hems here, and that effect definitely applies for this outfit! While it would look so pretty with heels and tights, I just couldn’t resist my OTK’s for that grey-x-pale-pink combo that is continuing to have its moment right now.
I only recently started shopping at REVOLVE and have to say I am very pleased with my experience! This Lovers + Friends frock arrived two days after I placed the order, and Revolve’s site, customer service (free shipping and returns), and all-around vibe is very cool, fun, and professional. Nordstrom has always been my numero uno when it comes to customer service and reliability, but, other than Amazon Prime, Revolve and Nordstrom are the only places I’ve experienced my order arriving just two days after being placed as standard shipping.
I decided to include two outerwear options, primarily because I loved the look of both of these, but also because I thoroughly enjoy how this quick change can transform the outfit completely. Equally dramatic and masculine, to counter the femininity of the dress’s color and texture, this duster coat offers up a more extravagant feel, while the faux leather is edgy and a bit more casual. I had originally paired the black jacket with sheer (polka dot!) tights in black and heels, which I really liked, but it was too cold to keep the camera guy (my fiancé) waiting while I changed, so I opted to stay in my OTK’s for the sake of time. Still pleased with the look, though!
